How To Please God?

Proverbs 15:25- "The Lord tears down the Proud man's house"

James 4:10- "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up"

Romans 12:10,15- "Honor one another above yourselves...Rejoice with those who rejoice"

 TODAY'S MESSAGE:

Saints of God, if you want to please God, you must walk in humility In today's world, which constantly promotes the look-out-for-number-one philosophy. But God wants us to walk humbly and look for ways to honor others. He wants us to rejoice with others as they rejoice. He does not want us to "hate" because someone else is rejoicing. God doesn't want us to seek our own honor. He wants us to seek the honor of others.

Look at Jesus Christ. He was a servant. He washed feet. He did not go around thinking he was "all that and a bag of Doritos" (smile). He was a servant, and he served. Jesus was humble and meek. So, if Jesus lives in us, that is what characteristics we should carry, Amen!

When you become humble before the Lord, he will exalt you. Some of us may be thinking, "Well, why is my ministry not doing so well?" My reply is are you humble? Are you meek? That has a lot to do with why things are not going right in your life. God exalts the humble, but he humbles those who seek to exalt themselves.

All through the Bible, we see God exalting the humble and humbling those who exalt themselves. Some examples:

David humble himself, and God Almighty exalted him greatly by making him king (II Samuel 7:18-21).

Uzziah, by contrast, became prideful; and was unfaithful to the Lord, and this led to his downfall. God afflicted him with leprosy (II Chronicles 26:16-18)

Look at this, God created the angels. One of them was very, very, strong and very beautiful. He was called the "shining one". He was strong and more beautiful than any of the other angels. This angel became so impressed with his own greatness (i.e., I am sure we all know one of those angels today). Anyway, the angel stopped giving worship and glory to God. I mean, this angel really forgot where he came from. He became so puffed up, that he demanded glory and worship for himself. He decided that he was better than God and wanted to take God's place. (that angel done lost his mind-SMILE).

God immediately judged this angel and casted him out of Heaven. Now this is an example of how pride and not being meek and humble can lead to a downfall, Amen. (thank you Lord for the leading...) So, I say all of this to say that God wants us to WEAR humility. He wants our appearance to others show humilty, not pride. It's not about us, it's all about Jesus! When other people see us, they should see us as a reflection of Jesus, who is ever so humble and meek (Matt. 11:29). To God be the glory!

Remember to stay in the word...

Remember, there is POWER in Prayer...

Remember, there is POWER in the name of Jesus...

Remember to give the Lord all of the praise.

Remember to be HUMBLE and MEEK.
